National Steinbeck Center

The National Steinbeck Center is a museum to honor the name of John Steinbeck. It is located in Salinas, the home town of Steinbeck, which is at a distance of about 17 miles from Monterey.

The museum was built to commemorate the writer’s life, the museum reflects Steinback’s Solitary and quiet pursuit.. The Museum is a little away from the historic place where the villagers burnt a lot of his books, when they thought he had betrayed them and agriculture, through what he wrote in his books.

The Museum offers a variety of information on the three main areas of interest of the visitors:
1)Art and Agriculture
2)Educational events and special programmes.
3)History and Literature

The Modern museum, may look incompatible with the natural and Modest personality of the author, but it surely highlights the issues and problems, like they are done in his books.

One can really experience John Steinbeck’s world upon entering the Museum’s John Steinbeck’s Hall, through artifacts, exhibitions and theme theatres showcasing many of Steinbeck’s literary works, like Of Mice and Men, etc.

Apart from that, the Rabobank agricultural Museum, Cultural and Art exhibits also showcase the variety of information available, and shows off the beauty of the pieces of literature of their collection.
