 Yosemite National Park
Yosemite National Park covers an area of over seven hundred and fifty thousand acres, which is more than 3000 kilometres. That means the park is almost the size of Rhode Islands. It is not only the largest but also one of the least fragmented habitats in California. It attracts more than three million visitors every year.
You can find at least seven hundred different species of plants in the park. Out of these seven hundred, at least hundred and sixty are very rare. The unique soil and atmosphere of the park make it possible for these plants to survive.
This big park has thousands of small lakes and ponds, over two thousand kilometres of streams, over thousand kilometres of hiking trail and over five hundred kilometres of road.
Yosemite Park has a Mediterranean climate, which means a cold and wet winter and hot dry summer. Due to unfavourable weather conditions the park is closed from late fall to spring.
You can get involved in lots of activities in the park area. Until early fall you can take multiple day backpack trips. Bikers can rent their bike in the Yosemite Valley. Rock Climbing is also a very popular here.

 Mt Shasta
If you want to experience something regular people don’t want, feel the cold winter weather in the middle of summer, you can go for hiking at Mt Shasta. This mountain is over four thousand meters high. Eight highest mountain in California. This mountain is a glacier and covered by snow all year round. This hiking involves risk and excitement. What type f risk? Hit by falling rocks, strike by lightning. Sounds impossible? Maybe that’s why this mountain is so attractive to the hikers.
The trail can cause a lot of dangers. This hike needs some skills. So it is better suited for the experienced hikers. The trail is extremely slippery. There are falling rocks everywhere. When you are going up, you can spot the rocks. But on the way down, you can be blindsided as the rocks are coming from behind.
This is a bit different than typical mountain hiking. There is no forest or trees. Not many creeks or water sources. In summer there might be a source at Helen Lake. But don’t take chances and carry enough water with you. At high altitude your body get s dehydrated fast.
You have to register at the trailhead. You can also camp there for free.

 Sunset Beach California
Sunset Beach is in Orange County California. It is to the Northwest of Huntington beach. It is specially famous among the surfers. But cannot ignore its spectacular view at the sunset. When the sun is going down, the unique mix of red, orange, purple and blue will blow your mind. You will forget for a moment that you are standing by the sea watching the sunset. It may feel like you are somewhere out of this planet experiencing something you have never done before. While it sounds like a lot of exaggeration, people who watched the sunset from California Sunset Beach know how true it is.
In many ways it is similar to the beaches of Hawaii. It is not a portrait of the other famous Hawaii sunset beach. They are different in their own beautiful ways. You will see lots of surfers, because they love this area. Wonderful environment for surfing specially in summer and fall. There are also lots of kite surfers to be seen.
For some it might be an extra attraction that this beach is close to a place where celebrities hang out. The area surrounding the beach has less than two thousand residents. And a little fun fact for you, none of these houses have mail box. They visit the centrally located post house for their mail.
