The Annual California Independent Film Festival is back on the event chart of California. 13th Annual California Independent Film Festival will be held at The New Rheem Theatre in Moraga, California. The independent film festival will be screening around 80 films of different categories and varied concerning issues.
Apart from main stream new films of feature category there will be documentaries, animation films, music videos, and even short films. The topics of all the films that will be featured will vary from politics to environmental concern, foreign movies, socio-economic, cultural, educational, and even controversial.
Not only screening different films on varied topics but also seminars, discussions, question and answer sessions, film making competition for aspiring film makers, award ceremony, and some refreshing snacking time with the stars. Beau Behan, program and promotion director for CAIFF, said “The festival tries to cover everything. We cover a number of film genres. It’s international. And we provide many opportunities for the attendees to interact with and ask questions of the filmmakers and actors. There is something for everyone.”

California Independent Film Festival started its journey in 1997 with an honest intention and effort to reach to a higher grade of audience and set an easier accessible podium to aspiring film makers and honoring the best in the industry. Starting from various locations in East Bay, then being held in Orinda, the 13th California Independent Film Festival is finally settling down in Moraga.
Through out the 13year run of California Independent Film Festival the event has witnessed honoring many legends like Martin Landau, Diane Ladd, Taylor Lautner, Mark Rydell, and many more.

6.30pm : Screening of the movie “The Fifth Quarter” at the Winchell Auditorium.

10am – 12noon : The Iron Film Maker contest will start enrolling the participants at the Winchell Auditorium. Organizers of the CAIFF will allot 24hrs to all the participants to come up with a complete film of 5mins duration span.
10am – 12noon : Many short films will be screened like “Vento”, “Gayby”, “The Short Case Of Record 12”, “Portland Celo Project ‘Denmark’ ”, “The Predators Return”, “Northcote (So Hungover)”, “All Birds Whistle”, “Allt Jag Vill”.
10am – 12noon : The movie “Nominated” will be screened at Theatre #3.
12.15pm – 1.15pm : Children’s program slot and short films like “Inka Bola”, “Bob”, “Margarita”, “Cloudy Day”, “Alex and the Ghosts”, “On The Rise”, “Toothnapped”, and “The Light House” will be screened in the Winchell Auditorium.
12.15pm – 1.15pm : A special documentary named “Come Together” will be screened at the Zemark Theatre.
12.30pm – 1.45pm : The documentary film festival starts for the day screening “Lunch”, “Mozambique”, and “Adult Beginner Ballet” at Theatre #3.
1.45pm – 3.30 : Sapporo short film festival starts screening “The Little Dragon”, “The Last Day Of Bulkin I.S.”, “Bicycle”, “The Little Boy And The Beast”, “Cages”, and “Just A Pitch” at the Winchell Auditorium.
3.45pm – 5.45 : The movie “Cast Me If You Can” will be screened at Winchell Auditorium.
6pm – 8pm : The movie “Language Of A Broken Heart” will be screened at Winchell Theatre.
Meanwhile seminars on “What Makes A great Short Film by Jana Sue Memel and on “How To Get Music In Film & Television” by Ken Parks and Matt Kierscht will be going on at Theatre #4.

10am – 12noon : Short film festival for the day starts by showcasing the world premier of “Kiddo”, “The North Cape”, “Swing”, “The Terms”, “Skinhole”, “Khephir”, “Bring Yourself”, and “Brink” at the Zemark Theatre.
10am – 12noon : The Bay Are Showcases B starts for the day screening “Your Move”, “Malcolm X”, “When Sally Met Rascal..”, “Self Portrait”, “Struggle – Music – Beauty”, “What John Wants”, and “Dog That Runs In Rough Water” at theatre #3.
10am – 11.30am : The movie “Aloha Daze” will be screened at Winchell Auditorium.
12noon – 1.45pm : The movie “Janaki (Daughter Of Earth)” will be showcased Winchell Auditorium.

2.30pm – 5.30pm : The feature film “Oklahoma” will be screened at Winchel Auditorium.
